Most therapy is offered in 50 minutes, which is a convention rooted more in scheduling tradition than clinical evidence. The type of trauma work I do demands more spaciousness that 50 minutes consistently cuts short. It can take 15-20 minutes just to arrive and find the thread, which leaves very little time to actually go somewhere before we have to start closing. With 75 minutes there's room to warm up, go somewhere meaningful, and integrate what emerges before we close. Endings feel less abrupt, and you leave having actually landed somewhere. The fee reflects the longer session, but the per-hour rate is comparable to standard therapy fees in Ontario and BC.

I am a Master’s-level social worker and registered therapist in Canada (BCCSW RSW #12898 & OCSWSSW RSW #851622), and I maintain full standing with both regulatory bodies. My liability insurance covers remote practice from Spain. I am not licensed to practice with residents of Spain, and I work with Canadian clients only.

Due to the remote nature of my practice, the time zone difference, and my availability, I am not currently taking on clients who would benefit from in-person or crisis support. At this time, I exclusively offer online therapy through a secure web platform, JaneApp.

While I absolutely love working with children and teens and have worked with them for many years, I have found that virtual therapy is less effective with this age group. As my practice is exclusively online at this time, I have chosen to work solely with adults. However, I do specialize in parent-child attachment EMDR, and am happy to work with parents specifically on supporting their relationship with their children and teens.

I believe in tailoring our sessions to your needs. Initially, I usually suggest we meet weekly or bi-weekly to start. As we progress, we can adjust the frequency to what suits you best.
For EMDR processing, I recommend weekly sessions. In some circumstances, you may wish to engage in EMDR more intensively, working on a single target over multiple sessions over a condensed period of time.

Your input matters! If you've heard about a specific approach that resonates with you, we can discuss it. However, I adopt an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning that I do not use any one type of therapy in isolation from the others. I'll also offer guidance based on my experience and your needs.
